Tervetuloa aikamatkalle miekkailun historiaan - EHMSillä järjestetään ensimmäistä kertaa uudenlainen peruskurssi. Kahdeksan viikkoa, neljä eri asetta!
Kurssilla tutustutaan EHMSillä opetettavien eurooppalaisten yhden käden miekkojen (sapeli, rapiiri, sivumiekka, messer) perusteisiin sekä miekkailun perusasioihin yleisesti; kurssin jälkeen osallistujat voivat suoraan osallistua kaikkiin yhden käden aseiden normaaleihin harjoituksiin. Kurssin vetävät Ville Välimäki, Kalle Kylmänen, Miro Lahtela, ja Toni Heikura - kurssin jälkeen oletkin siis tutustunut myös suureen osaan viikottaisia (yhden käden miekkailun) harjoituksia vetävistä ohjaajista!
Kurssi järjestetään 7.4.-28.5., ja hintaa sillä on 150€ (sisältäen vuoden 2026 jäsenmaksun). Harjoitukset järjestetään tiistaisin klo 19:30 – 21:00 ja torstaisin klo 20:00–21:30.
Aiemmin olemme järjestäneet peruskurssin bolognalaisesta miekkailusta ja ajoittaisia viikonlopun mittaisia intensiivikursseja muista yhden käden miekoista. Nyt voit tutustua kaikkiin kerralla, ja löytää suosikkisi!
Huom: Bolognalaista miekkailua lukuunottamatta kaikkien yhden käden aselajien harjoituksiin voi myös osallistua suoraan myös pitkämiekan peruskurssin jälkeen; bolognalaisen sivumiekan peruskurssin jälkeen voit tietenkin osallistua kaikkiin niistä. Jos olet siis jo EHMS:n jäsen ja jokin peruskurssi on takana, tämä kurssi ei ole tarpeen. Miekkailutaitojen lisäksi kurssin tavoite on opettaa “ehmssiläisyyttä”.
Welcome on a voyage through fencing through the ages - EHMS presents the first edition of a new kind of basics course. Eight weeks, four different weapons!
During the course, you will learn about the basics of the European one-handed weapons that we teach at EHMS (sabre, rapier, sidesword, and messer) and fencing in general; after the course, you are ready to participate in the normal weekly trainings of all of our one-handed weapons. The course is taught by Ville Välimäki, Kalle Kylmänen, Miro Lahtela, and Toni Heikura - so after the course, you will also be familiar with most of the people who run the weekly (one-handed sword) trainings!
The course is held from 7th of April to 28th of May, and costs 150€ (including the yearly training fee for 2026). The trainings are on Tuesdays 19:30 – 21:00 and Thursdays 20:00 – 21:30.
Previously, we have organized basics courses in Bolognese sidesword, and the occasional weekend intensive courses for the other weapons. Now you can try all of them, and find your favourite!
NB: With the exception of Bolognese sidesword, you can take part in the normal trainings for one-handed weapons even without this course, if you have already completed a Longsword basics course - and if you have completed the Bolognese sidesword basics course, you can join all of them. So, if you are already a member of EHMS, this course is not necessary. The aim of the course is to teach the basics of fencing, but also “being an EHMS person”.
